Working Lines

The main working lines of Raminova Tech are:

  • Indoor Localization and Positioning based on WiFi networks (802.11)

Although Raminova Tech already has a Indoor Localization solution, we are continuously working on getting it better and opening new research lines in order to increase our product's quality.
  • Seamless Roaming Smart System

Ministerio de Industria, Turismo y Comercio It is a mobile communications system that provides continuous network access independently of the available network interfaces (WiFi, GPRS, UMTS, cable...). The system chooses the most appropriate interface at each moment according to several parameters (quality of connection, cost, destination, type of data...).
This project is supported by the Ministerio de Industria, Turismo y Comercio.
  • Solar tracking and Solar Panel maintenance Smart System

With this system Solar Panels are mounted on a tracking system that continuously orients the panel towards the sun, increasing panel performance in about 35%.
The system also integrates several sensors that report to a server about the panel and tracker state, generating automatic alerts about repairing or replacement issues.
  • DBF Antenna for vehicular use

Raminova Tech is developing a satellite reception system for being used in mobility. The main application will be its instalation in vehicles.
The system is based on signal reception using Digital Beam Forming techniques in order to reduce to the minimum the use of mobile parts in the whole reception system.
  • Cooperation in cubesat development: XATcobeo project

Xunta de Galicia Raminova Tech is coooperating in the project leadered by Universidade de VigoUniversity of Vigo with educational purpose named XATcobeo project. In this project a small cubesat satellite will be developed and it will be part of the payload of the new Vega Maiden Flight which is ESA’s new launch vehicle.
This project is also supported by Autonomous Government of Galicia (Xunta de Galicia) and Retegal as part of Space Research & Development budget, Ministry of Science and Innovation as part of Space Research & Development budget and INTA (National Institute for Aerospace Technology)..
  • WiMAX: Coastline propagation analysis

Raminova Tech developed a full analysis of WiMAX propagation in Galician coastline.
This project is supported by Autonomous Government of Galicia (Xunta de Galicia). Xunta de Galicia The objectives of the analysis are the validation of WiMAX standard in license free band (5.4GHz) for static or low mobility networking use in galician coastline. A simulation tool was developed in this project and it was validated with the experimental results. This simulator can be use as an approximation to a WiMAX deployment phase or as a study method to analyze the environment also helping in the networking design.
  • Roaming Software

As a continuation of the roaming developments made by Raminova Tech, this project focuses on the analysis of the future requirements for the next 4G networks.
This project is supported by Autonomous Government of Galicia (Xunta de Galicia). Xunta de Galicia 4G networks are becoming a reality, but a previous study of the roaming needs in heterogeneous networks is the first step for a robust design in networking swapping protocols. Raminova Tech focused in the "always on" concept to test all the networks and the roaming among them.
  • Activity Monitor System

Raminova Tech with the collaboration of the University of Vigo is developing the basis of a monitoring tool of the physical activity. This project covers three main aspects:
    - Physical activity measuring systems
    - Development of a sensing device
    - Algorithms development for physical activity data analysis
Physical activity collects data of the activity of an individual that can be use to monitor many kind of human activities (sporting, children or elderly activities...)
  • Marine Communications System

This project implies the use of wireless communication systems to extract data from nautical transmission buses. Data from many ships can be stored in a central database to be accessed by any authorized people. Raminova Tech experience with related projects (coastal WiMAX analysis and roaming box) is a major factor to obtain a communication system that can be integrated with nautical buses (NMEA, seaTalk...)
  • Central FM deaf aid system

Raminova Tech propose with this study a centralized system that transmits audio directly to deaf aid devices via FM. This system can be used in school classrooms, assembly halls with mixed people with or without hearing difficulties. It also can be used in public places as can be cinemas. Another utility is the transmission of different contents in several FM channels, this way contents can be customized for each person.
